Automatic compression

NuevoCloud assumes that all compressed resources are the same as the uncompressed version with compression applied.

Our CDN will negotiate with the client to select the most efficient type of compression, and automatically compress (or decompress) content.

To decide if the content should be compressed, the Content-Type header and file extension is checked for one of the following types:

  • text/html
  • text/css
  • application/x-javascript
  • application/javascript
  • text/javascript
  • text/plain
  • text/xml
  • application/json
  • application/vnd.ms-fontobject
  • application/x-font-opentype
  • application/x-font-truetype
  • application/x-font-ttf
  • application/xml
  • font/eot
  • font/opentype
  • font/otf
  • image/svg+xml
  • image/vnd.microsoft.icon

NuevoCloud also requests gzip when making requests to your origin server. Enabling gzip on your origin server will save bandwidth transferring data to NuevoCloud.
