Free TLS Certificates with Let's Encrypt

  Announcements, Let's Encrypt, TLS

We're happy to announce we've completed our integration with Let's Encrypt (LE), a free and automated Certificate Authority (CA) provided by the Internet Security Research Group (ISRG). ISRG is a public benefit organization sponsored by Mozilla, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), Akamai, Cisco and others.

Critically, their CA certificate has been included with browsers for a few years now, and it has excellent support in modern browsers.

No action is required to use Let's Encrypt with NuevoCloud. We'll automatically obtain a LE certificate for any domain using our service that does not already have a certificate. An LE certificate will also be obtained when an uploaded certificate is near expiration.

To disable Let's Encrypt, simply upload your own certificate. We only obtain LE certificates when an existing certificate does not exist or is expired.
